What is desisting / detransitioning?

Desisting refers to when someone identifying as something other than their birth sex goes back to identifying as their birth sex.

Detransitioning refers to when someone undergoing “gender-affirming” medical intervention decides to alter that course of treatment, and can include efforts to reverse the effects (to the extent that is possible). It is a highly personal process that can sometimes, but not always, include returning to identifying as their birth sex.
