We are the LGB Courage Coalition.
MISSION
The LGB Courage Coalition is a lesbian and gay advocacy group committed to promoting evidence-based medical care, ending the medicalization of gender nonconformity, safeguarding homosexual rights, and building a pathway back for LGB individuals who have undergone medicalization.
We are a registered nonprofit based in the United States, completely funded by small donations.
You can help us by donating time, money, or through just simply talking to your friends and family about what’s really going on.
ACTIONS
As an advocacy organization, we focus on creating immediate changes that will impact those being harmed.
We support legislative efforts across the country to regulate the use of drugs, chemicals, and surgeries toward cosmetic modification in the name of gender.
We are non-partisan and work to educate both lawmakers and the public on the harms of these unproven, ill-conceived interventions.
We also focus on the three primary organizations still promoting these harmful practices- WPATH, The Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics- through direct actions to reach medical providers.
As an organization that specifically represents LGB people, we recognize the regressive stereotypes that transition is based on. We aim to champion and support the (re-)normalization of gender nonconformity in adults, regardless of their sexual orientation.
GOALS
We believe no child should be subjected to the material harms caused by puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and “gender-affirming” surgeries.
What We Testify For and Educate On:
- Supporting bans on puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for minors in all 50 states
- Supporting Detransitioner Bills of Rights, which include extending medical malpractice periods, and holding insurers responsible for detransition-related healthcare costs
- Supporting women’s rights to sex-based safe spaces
- Supporting and advocating for impacted parents and families
- Supporting the basic rights of LGB adults to participate fully in society, including employment, family life, and artistic expression
