As the evidence mounts that “gender-affirming care” is neither safe nor effective, state lawmakers have taken steps to protect children and families from its harms. Children cannot understand the consequences of these interventions and, as a result, cannot provide informed consent. All children deserve to grow up free from medical interventions that target their sexual and reproductive health based on regressive sex stereotypes and homophobia.
